Preparation for certification.

You prepare for this course in advance and record your questions for clarification in the course. The preparation is done with the documents from the course «The Unified Modeling Language (UML) («UML»), the UML specification» and the documents on http://www.omg.org/ocup-2/coveragemap-found.htm

The individual theoretical principles of UML relevant for the certification examination are dealt with in short time units. Numerous practical exercises, alternating with the theoretical units, are used to prepare for the certification exam.

This course is targeted at all IT Professionals, e.g. Architects, Developers, Analysts and Testers as well as Project Managers or Quality Managers who already have experience with object orientation and UML and would like to acquire further knowledge of UML.

In addition, this certification package is targeted at all persons who wish to attend the preparatory course for the official and internationally recognised certifications «OMG-Certified UML Professional 2 Foundation» following the UML course.

This certification package is not intended for Software Architects and Software Developers who want to learn object-oriented modeling of software. For this purpose, we assume that you have attended the course Object-Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) («OOU») or that you have the appropriate specialist knowledge.

Knowledge in the development of object-oriented software is an advantage. The minimum requirement is knowledge of object orientation and UML, as taught in the following courses:

The official «OCEB 2 Fundamental exam» (OMG-OCEB2-FUND100) can be taken at an official Pearson Vue test centre (Digicomp in Zurich, Bern or Basel).

The Foundation exam will take 150 minutes for people without english as their native language. The examination is conducted by a licensed certification agency and is passed if at least 67% of the possible points have been achieved. The examination costs in Switzerland are USD 210.– (equivalent in Swiss francs).
